THE STORY BEHIND PERLI PARIS

This all started with a gift for my mother — and a pair of pearls I had no business buying.

I was in my early twenties, clutching my very first salary, trying to find something worthy of the woman who had given me everything. I walked into a jewelry shop knowing almost nothing, and walked out with a double-strand pearl necklace I could barely afford and barely understood.

It was pure luck. But it was the right kind of luck — the kind that changes everything.

My mother still wears that necklace to every party. And I never stopped thinking about what made it special.

"Pearls are unlike any other gem. You just hold one in your hand, and you know."

What followed was, admittedly, a little obsessive. Confessions of a Shopaholic, but for pearls.

I began collecting — quietly at first, then enthusiastically, then unapologetically. Nearly a hundred pieces later, I had learned to trace quality through touch: the weight, the cool smoothness, the depth of luster that only a well-formed pearl carries.

I built relationships with suppliers, traveled to sources, and discovered something most people don't realize — with pearls, price truly does reflect quality, and experience is needed to feel the difference.

FROM COLLECTION TO CREATION

Friends and family noticed. They asked me to find pieces for them. Then they asked me to make them.

And so I began designing — which taught me something else entirely: what looks extraordinary on a catalog page doesn't always look extraordinary on a person.

Real wearability has its own logic. I found my style through those early pieces, shaped by real women, real necks, real lives. By the time I had a vision of my own, I already had the clientele to test it on.

PARIS CHANGED EVERYTHING

Seven years ago, I moved to Paris for work — and Paris became home. There is something in the way French women wear jewelry: effortlessly, deliberately, as if each piece was chosen once and belongs there forever.

I became enamoured with that instinct. It shaped the way I think about design — pieces that feel chosen, not assembled. Timeless, not trendy. Quietly confident, never loud.

Perli Paris grew out of that love — for the city, for the craft, and for the woman who wears a pearl and makes it entirely her own.

"My journey looks like it started a year ago. In truth, it started over a decade ago — with a twenty-something trying to say thank you to her mother."

In many traditions, pearls are a symbol of motherhood — of depth, patience, and something rare formed slowly over time.

Perli Paris is, in its own way, a homage. To where I come from. To the woman who raised me. And to the accidental gift that set everything in motion.

Every piece I make carries a little of that story. I hope it finds its way into yours.
